“Congratulations!” to Martha Caldwell
It was announced that Martha Caldwell has received a 2023 Region 12 Service Award. The AHS Board established this award for outstanding service to AHS at the regional level. Only one AHS Regional Service Award may be awarded per region per year.
From the ADS Journal:
Martha Caldwell freely gives of her time and abilities to support both her local club, the North Florida Daylily Society (NFDS), and Region 12. Since joining in 2011, she has served on several NFDS Nominating Committees and as Hospitality Chair 2016-2019. In 2021,
as in previous years, and as a direct result of her hard work, NFDS was honored as a Pewter Club with at least 50% of NFDS membership also being AHS members. Today she serves as both the Region 12 New Membership Chair and her club’s Membership Chair.
Martha maintains a beautiful AHS Display Garden, and hosts tours for numerous local and regional garden clubs, church groups,
master gardener volunteers, and complete strangers, all of whom she charms and captivates with her friendly, southern hospitality
while encouraging all to learn more about daylilies. She invites visitors to join NFDS and AHS and to attend NFDS plant sales
and shows, where she sets up an education and membership table. Martha has donated many hundreds of her potted daylilies to
NFDS plant sales and other fundraisers.
She is both an AHS Garden Judge and Exhibition Judge and enters her club’s show every year. She helps organize the Region 12
Spring and Fall meetings and frequently serves as Registrar. She has attended numerous Regional Meetings and National Conventions and encourages other members to do so, citing the value of friendships made, classes attended, and gardens visited.
Congratulations to Martha Caldwell on receiving the AHS Regional Service Award for Region 12.
